If you can get past the ubiquitous musical misanthropy, you will find a plethora of condescending genius reminescent of an intellectualized Maddox (who stopped being funny/relevant several years ago). Highlight: The Field Guide to the North American Hipster (multiple volumes, even).
McSweeney's
McSweeney's owns your face. Any association with Dave Eggers is bound to be awesome, true, but its consistently audacious and original articles make it transcendently jizz-worthy in its own right. Highlight: An Art-History Professor Explains to His 4-Year-Old Daughter Why the Fair Market Value of Her Picture Is Actually Far Less Than That of a Thousand Words. Also, this one is too good to leave out: Unused Audio Commentary by Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky for the Fellowship of the Ring

sooo: mcsweeny's does own my face but i alreay knew that. david thorpe is fucking excellent, he's amazing, he gets added to my list of people i want to date the offspring of (the lovechild of him, conor oberst, elliott smith, anakin skywalker, johnny the homocidal maniac, anais nin and emma goldman. that's my dream man). the unnews? i'm like, whatever, but you had tasteful hitler jokes, which are hard enough to pull off.
